Independent Expert

The Practice has specialised in providing impartial expert advice.  Reports are prepared to comply with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules 1998 together with giving due consideration to the RICS practice statements (surveyors acting as expert witnesses). Reports are regularly prepared to assist parties in settling their disputes and if necessary for Court proceedings. Reports will be prepared on a wholly independent basis.  Recent projects have included Residential Valuation Auditing for a number of lenders and small building disputes.

Peter has previously provided advice in valuation disputes and acted as an Expert Witness, appearing at the High Court in London as an Expert Valuation Witness for lenders seeking to recover losses as a result of over or incorrect valuations.  In connection with the above, Peter has acted on behalf of the Halifax Building Society, The Royal Bank of Scotland and National Home Loans PLC.  He has also acted as an expert where a panel surveyor was accused of preparing a negligent survey report whilst undertaking a building survey and mortgage valuation. In 2004, Peter acted as an expert valuation witness appearing in the High Court in London as part of a Party Wall Act dispute.

Regulated Valuer

Peter is a ‘Regulated Valuer’ and is authorised by the RICS to produce valuations on behalf of clients in residential and small commercial properties.
