Peter G. May

Born in Derby on the 9^th October 1958, Peter attended Trent College, Long Eaton where he developed a passion for sport and rugby in particular. After obtaining 8 'O-levels and 4 A-levels, Peter attended Liverpool Polytechnic where he was awarded a Degree in Urban Estate Management.

After graduation Peter spent five years working in Northamptonshire in a traditional and mixed General Surveyors Practice where he gained a wide grounding in many aspects of surveying.  After obtaining a diploma from the RICS and achieving 'Professional Associate' designation (now known as 'Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) he married his wife, Heather, a school teacher. 

In 1984, Peter decided to widen his experience in surveying and in 'sailing' and moved to Portsmouth where he managed the shops and retail department of Field Palmer Chartered Surveyors.  During his employment he acquired a number of offices for the fast expanding chain of estate agents, Mann & Co.  He later joined Mann & Co to acquire offices for their on-going expansion programme and to establish a professional and commercial department. In 1988 Peter left the company and set up his own practice in Wimborne.

Heather and Peter have four children, a boy and three girls. Although now too old to play rugby, Peter still tries to keep fit and plays 5-a-side veterans' football, badminton, golf, and any other sport he can get the opportunity to try. Peter is a keen sailor and regular competitor in the Laser South Coast sailing series. He is fully involved with his local sailing club and has recently stood down as Commodore.
